DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

  • Conducts accurate and timely testing of raw materials; packaging; in-process and finished products using in-house and/or AOAC approved methods.  Completing all tests, properly interpreting results and releasing items in a timely manner.
  • Identify areas of concern (i.e. nonconforming materials, production issues.), issue QN’s and champion the root cause/corrective action process to ensure subsequent production is not compromised
  • Provide troubleshooting support to the production departments by investigating issues that adversely affect food safety/quality or manufacturing efficiency and recommending potential solutions. 
  • Assist with QN management including vendor communication.
  • Communicates effectively with internal customers, other McCormick divisions and vendors when required
  • Retrieve samples from warehouse as required and conduct inspections for defective product.
  • Conduct monthly GMP audits, daily line audits and allergen swabbing as required.
  • General housekeeping of lab.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Follows all GLP and GMP requirements.
  • Participates in JTE as required.

 

Education:   University degree in Chemistry/Food Science/Food Technology or related field.

Experience: 

•             2 to 5 years in food industry.

Qualifications: 

  • Familiar with Quality Control systems, GLP, HACCP and GMP’s
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle heavy workloads with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work overtime as required and flexibility to work other shifts as required.
