MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Manage & lead new product development activities by formulating new products that are commercially viable and be fully accountable for product development through the whole cycle; from initial development, to scale-up and commercialization, to trial phase at the Customer, thus ensuring a flawless launch.
  • Lead cross functional collaboration internally and externally to manage projects from concept to launch phase, ensuring that the appropriate resources.
  • Maintain customer intimacy through continual technical support provision, in pursue of current business maintenance and new business development.
  • Manage direct reports to improve overall technical capability, customer engagements, professional leadership skills, development goals and performance reviews.
  • Execute optimization, new product development and cost reduction projects; proactively or in response to Customer Briefs; from Brief to Launch phase On Time In Full (OTIF). 
  • Interact with Suppliers and the Industry, through workshops/ seminar attendance, to ensure latest trends and technologies are incorporated into development activities.
  • Facilitate internal Sensory Evaluation activities to develop a strong awareness of the sensory attributes of new products and raw materials. 
  • Coordinate internal evaluations of newly developed products to ascertain required modifications.
  • Lead technical brand management in collaboration with the Commercial Team. 
  • Actively support Supply Chain/ Ops and QA with technical know-how on NPDs and current product quality maintenance where necessary. 
  • Support Product and Process Implementation (PPI) to execute internal and external trial related activities and monitoring of first production runs. Collaborate with Consumer Insights to ensure developed concepts and NPDs conform to current Market Insights and trends. 

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

 

  • Technical Degree/ Bachelor’s Food Science or equivalent.
  • Product development experience within an FMCG environment (preferred).
  • People Management, with ability to lead goal planning and personal development plans.
  • Project Management Skills with great ability to deliver to set timelines and maintain flexibility/ adaptability when things change course.
  • Proven creative record of seasoning & coating systems development.
  • Experience with flavours and wet sauces development highly advantageous.
  • Ability to translate market insights into winning NPD.
  • Customer-facing experience, with ability to build customer relationships and intimacy at all levels. 
  • Ability to independently compile presentations and deliver them to Customers is essential.
  • Good business acumen and understanding of financial fundamentals – product costings & budget.
  • Proven track record of achievement.
