McCormick Canada is looking for a Category Analyst (Planograms) to join our Sales Team for a 12 month contract; this role will be based out of our Mississauga, ON office and will report to our Customer Team Director, Insights & Sales Planning.


Responsibilities incude:

  • Responsible for Planogram Development – Develop space management models based on facts from various sources (Nielsen, customer data, etc.).
  • Responsible for Planogram Database Management - Create and manage a database of planograms and a product library by category for key customers.
  • Corporate/Customer Nielsen reporting deliverables to be delivered monthly
  • Provide analytic support to the Customer Insights and Planning team.
  • Work with Customer Insights and Planning team to provide financially vetted assortment recommendations. 
  • Drive best in class POG and in store insights – drive gold standard thinking leveraging market and internal insights resources
  • Key member of the team responsible for rolling out new shelving concepts to our customers –responsible for POG creation, space planning, store assortment
  • Understand and leverage all data points to deliver actionable insights and category recommendations.
  • Set both short term and longer-term strategies for POG and shelf development based on objectives, goals, and measures.
  • Contribute to optimization projects, identify and lead process and continuous improvement initiatives.


Qualifications Required:

  • Post-Secondary Education – Bachelor Degree in a related discipline is required
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record
  • 2+ years’ experience within the grocery and/ or packaged goods area
  • Prior planogram experience is desired (JDA experience and asset)
  • Proven skills in guiding customer interaction and influencing with strong results
  • In-depth knowledge of the grocery/ packaged goods customer base.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to function effectively in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills required to manage interactions with internal customers
  • Bilingualism is an asset
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office, Nielsen Answers, JDA, Toolbox, and Feature Vision
  • Proven ability to work under tight timelines with minimal supervision.
