POSITION OVERVIEW:

McCormick Canada is looking for a Director, Digital Commerce to join the North Anerican Consumer Product Division team; this role can be based out of eitherour Mississauga, ON or London, ON office. The Director, Digital Commerce will lead Digital Commerce growth and capabilities in North America, driving collaborative leadership with P&L responsibility for Pure Play, Omni Channel and Direct-to-Consumer in a matrixed organizational structure. This position will be responsible for the strategic direction, capabilities development and execution of North America Digital Commerce with emphasis on omnichannel growth with retail partners in US and Canada. Demonstrates close connection to technology / digital space and uses this understanding to identify new business opportunities for MKC. Plans and executes pilot programs to prove viability of specific business development initiatives like eCommerce fulfillment services, Marketplaces, etc. The Director, Ecommerce will direct and develop a team of direct reports and help facilitate knowledge sharing and productive working environment with internal and external partners.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads the development and execution of our annual plans and 3 Year Long Term Plans  and Capital Plan in Digital Commerce – Pure Play, Omni Channel & Direct-to-Consumer. Leads matrixed organization of internal and external teams members to achieve our objectives.
  • Responsible for the P&L of NA Digital Commerce. Drives execution of Omni Channel delivery and builds Digital Commerce Capability to win with retail partners in US and Canada
  • Demonstrates close connection to technology / digital space and uses this understanding to identify new business opportunities for the NA business. Plans and executes pilot programs to prove viability of specific business development initiatives.
  • Provides Leadership and coaching to staff with a focus on developing high performing talent. Facilitates knowledge sharing and productive working environment with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborates with Category Team and cross-functional teams to increase their Digital IQ as part of Digital Transformation

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA in Business Management or Marketing or Sales
  • 8+ years of demonstrated success building business in consumer packaged goods, including annual plan development and execution for assigned responsibilities
  • 5+ years of proven team leadership and employee management and development skills
  • 5+ years of broad business lens to include basic understanding of Sales, Marketing, IT/UX and Finance functions
  • 3+ years’ experience participating in B2B2C eCommerce (manufacturer -> retailer -> consumer)
  • 2+ years of high level strategic & analytical thinking, strategic selling, communication, negotiation, team & relationship building skills
  • 2+ years of demonstrated ability to work in emerging space/new business models
  • In-depth understanding of concepts and procedures within CPG industry (Marketing and Sales) - including advertising/ promotion/shopper marketing, insights and analytics, annual account planning with retail partners.
  • Exposure and thought leadership in the commercial digital space
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication & organizational skills required.
  • Ability to influence across functional teams and manage relationships across multiple cultures; Ability to engage and inspire others through passion for achieving success.
  • Developed communication & diplomacy skills required to negotiate internally and externally (e.g. with customers and CPG ecosystem partners). Negotiations have impact on business and involve both internal and external parties - strategic selling.
  • Internal key relationships with sales planning and field sales, marketing services, finance and IT
