Group Marketing Manager, Condiments & Sauces

McCormick Canada is currently looking to hire a Group Marketing Manager to join our team. This position can be based out of either our London, ON or Mississauga, ON offices. 


Description of Position:

Responsibilities include direction, development and execution of strategic plans for product groups to achieve sales goals. Overall accountability for volume/profitability, creative, advertising, consumer & trade promotion, merchandising, packaging, new products and pricing.



  • Accountable for overall P&L, pricing strategy and budgets of business/product portfolio.
  • Provides direction to key cross-functional partners such as research, sales, product development, manufacturing, quality, finance, legal & advertising agencies.
  • Guides brand team in developing comprehensive annual brand plans for presentation and alignment to divisional leadership
  • Monitors execution and performance of annual plans and makes course correction as needed.
  • Develops and leads transformational business change within Regional and Global Growth Initiatives
  • Key strategic and tactical role in acquisitions and divestures, product quality improvements, new products and line extension development, testing, cost reduction, promotions, advertising and public relations.
  • Liaison with global and North American consumer commercial teams to leverage efficiencies and learning across geographies.
  • Development, engagement & management of direct reports; mentoring of others


Qualifications Required:

  • University degree in Marketing or Business Management; MBA is preferred
  • Demonstrated relevant skills & results in consumer packaged goods marketing, forecasting, advertising, market research, consumer & trade promotion, P&L management and business planning required
  • Demonstrated success building brands in consumer packaged goods marketing (8 years)
  • Proven team leadership and employee management and development skills (5 years)
  • Expertise in syndicated databases, market research, business planning, media planning, finance, promotional activities and consumer communications
  • Expert level understanding of concepts, principles and practices in Marketing and a sound understanding in other areas including Sales, Finance and Supply Chain
  • In-depth understanding of how own area integrates with cross-functional teams such as Sales.
  • Understanding of the industry sector and competitive landscape
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and developed diplomacy skills required to guide, influence & convince others; strong relationship with Sales and external customers and agencies
  • Financially savvy, with ability to manage cost centers, negotiate services and associated fees
  • Experience leading cross-functinoal team is preferred
