Position Overview

 

 

This role is responsible for the overall enterprise planning, estimation, resourcing, budgeting and successful on-time execution delivery for McCormick technology portfolio global programs & projects. Acts as a liaison in the coordination with other portfolio programs/projects across the organization to proactively address dependencies and potential blockers.

 

Oversees all aspects of on-time & on-budget delivery execution in a release management model by managing project managers responsible for the projects within the program portfolio.  This role requires demonstration of strong business and technical acumen and demonstrated ability to influence successful outcomes.

 

The Program Manager will work effectively in partnership and collaborate with key leaders from the multiple MKC business functions, process teams,  Organizational Readiness team, Systems integration and other 3rd party partners and program leadership, among others. This role reports directly to the Director of PMO.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manages & coordinates day-to-day program management activities for a release to track, measures and report on timeline, scope and resources.  Program Manager is responsible to make sure the standard program tools, processes and stage gate controls are met.
  • Owns the Program/Release integrated workplan, Deliverables management, and manages dependencies and milestones across Release Workstreams and Release critical path
  • Very proactive identification and resolution of program risks and issues and cross functional dependencies, including dependencies with other programs/projects. Identifies and drives continuous improvement & learnings and facilitates rapid implementation & adoption.
  • Report release health to program leadership and provide inputs in producing an accurate and timely reporting of program release status
  • Oversight, development, communication and deployment of consistent project management best practices, including processes, tools and reports.
  • Supports PMO in KPI and metrics generation, by ensuring accurate and timely data is provided by Release team.

 

 

Secondary Responsibilities

 

  • Coach and champion PMO ways of working, processes and tools
  • Facilitate communication between PMO and workstreams on integrated plan changes
  • Serve as primary Program Manager for assigned release, partnering closely with systems integrator partners, Project managers, other program managers, workstream functional leadership, release & deployment leadership Release leads to drive execution & accurately capture and report on status
  • Report release health to program leadership and provide inputs in producing an accurate and timely reporting of release status throughout its life cycle
  • Maintain visibility into the Program Plan & Schedule for their assigned Release
  • Responsible for predictable execution and delivery of assigned workstreams project plans working with the release leads
  • Implementing and managing changes and actions (i.e.. get to green plans) to ensure release milestones are achieved.
  • Collaborate with other program manager and integration team to manage cross-functional RAIDx and Dependencies
  • Collaborating with release organization readiness lead to make communication effective and transparent regarding release issues and decisions
  • Support release resource management in coordination with PMO resource manager
  • Facilitate communication between PMO and workstreams on integrated plan changes and  external interdependencies that may impact release schedule and risks
  • Attend daily standups and action any resulting RAIDX items
  • Assists Release Leads with escalation of Release scope, schedule, resources and cost issues (i.e., change requests)
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business, or related field.
  • 10-12 years experience in the execution of complex cross functional global program/portfolio management in multiple technologies business functions, and IT business experience required.
  • Experience in implementation of SAP heavily preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to use experience and acumen to effectively influence and drive successful outcomes and results.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment under pressure and sensitive situations.
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project/program management.
  • Experience working with a broad range of PMO counterparts, Systems Integration partners, cross functional workstreams and processes and core business customers to develop solutions to complex, global business problems.
  • Willingness & ability to travel to international business locations (if required).
  • Experience in working with diverse cultures and global time zones are required.
  • Sets direction for others to work toward goals and completion of objectives. 
  • In-depth knowledge of consumer package goods and industrial food manufacturing businesses, and various functional areas globally.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $140,750-$190,750Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
