POSITION OVERVIEW
The Sr. Finance Manager plays a key role in enhancing decision-making and driving business performance by delivering proactive, forward-looking strategic, commercial, and market insights to the Commercial team. Acting as the primary point of contact between Finance and the Commercial function, this role provides guidance, support, and mentorship to help the team achieve its financial objectives. By building a strong, collaborative relationship with Commercial, the Finance Business Partner constructively challenges and influences stakeholders to ensure performance targets are met. They also contribute actively to management teams and steering committees, helping to shape and support strategic initiatives and ensure alignment across the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reporting & Analysis
Delivers insightful commentary on business performance to enhance understanding of month-end results. Promotes business accountability for financial outcomes, enabling teams to identify actions that drive improved results. Collaborates with Commercial Finance and key stakeholders to provide robust financial, commercial, and market insights in management reporting—assessing performance against strategic goals and offering actionable recommendations to optimize both strategy and operations. - Business Planning
Leads the budgeting and forecasting process by working closely with the business to shape key assumptions—challenging and guiding teams to take ownership and understand the financial impact of their decisions. Partners with management to shape medium- and short-term plans that align with overall corporate objectives. Supports the development of accurate, realistic, and ambitious budgets and forecasts in collaboration with Commercial and the FP&A/Center of Excellence (CoE) teams. Assesses long-term business plans by analyzing market dynamics, growth opportunities, competitive landscape, and potential risks. - Pricing & Trade Spend
Partners with the Commercial team and CoE to inform both strategic and operational pricing and trade spend decisions. Oversees the development and implementation of pricing strategies through in-depth insight and analysis. Delivers commercial recommendations that enhance returns and supports the design and evaluation of promotional plans to maximize effectiveness. - Opportunity Assessment
Reviews and enhances financial models to evaluate the future profitability of proposed business opportunities. Conducts in-depth analysis to identify and develop new market opportunities, leveraging insights from the existing customer base and geographical presence.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or Accounting
- MBA is considered an asset.
- 10+ years of experience with atleast 3 years of leadership experience
- Strong proficiency in financial systems
- Experience with SAP, BW, and TM1 is a plus.
- Extensive background in commercial finance, financial planning, and analysis; CPG industry experience preferred.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word are essential
