McCormick Canada is looking for a Sr Product Manager to join our North American CPD Mrketing team; this role can be based out of either our Mississauga, ON or London, ON office. The Sr. Product Manager – North American Alt Channels Innovation will be primarily responsible for the development and implementation of a 3-year innovation pipeline for our flagship spices, seasonings and extracts portfolio that delivers sales volume and profit objectives for the North American Club channel (Costco, Sam’s, BJ’s).  This role will lead a cross functional team and one direct report with overall responsibility for the profitability, promotion, pricing, packaging, media, distribution, merchandising, research, and new product plan for Club customers.  This role will work closely with the Alt Channel Delivery Team, Brand Marketing and Sales to identify, scope and lead projects that deliver against growth aspirations for this channel. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identity and prioritize key issues and opportunities in the NA Club business, develop and execute plans to address
  • Lead the creation and execution of a 3-year innovation pipeline across all key product segments for the Club channel
  • Lead for Club Innovation projects/Club Rotational PIF including P&Ls, pricing recommendations, new item forecasts 
  • Manage and develop three team members
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of our customers in Alt Channel to enable alignment of McCormick’s category growth strategies to the mandatory needs and strategic direction of each customer
  • Responsible for recommendations relating to competitive analysis, trade, customer, and consumer communications
  • Demonstrate operational expertise and understanding of McCormick ways of working and processes to effectively lead cross functional teams
  • Lead projects that support both Marketing and Sales objectives 
  • Recommend and deliver business presentations to sales, customers, and senior leadership
  • Exercise discretion regarding data and sources, analytical conclusions, and strategic recommendations

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, or related field required
  • 5 years of consumer packaged goods marketing experience including innovation/pipeline development experience
  • Results focused individual who thrives in fast paced, dynamic environment.  
  • Ability to effectively prioritize workload for self and team against desired results
  • Experience managing and developing direct reports
  • Experience leading cross functional teams, strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, communication, analytical skills with a bias for action
  • Strong analytical skills as well as evaluative judgement based on the analysis of factual and qualitative information in complex or novel situations
  • Demonstrated success leading and championing business plan recommendations for senior management
  • Demonstrated understanding of:
    • Marketing procedures and concepts
    • How the team interacts and integrates with others in accomplishing objectives
    • Competitive landscape and implications to the segment and business
    • Required business acumen that goes beyond Marketing
  • Good understanding of syndicated retail data analysis (IRI, Nielsen), financial analysis, business planning, market research
