McCormick Canada is currently looking to hire a Sr Account Manager to join our Flavour Sales team. This position can be located at our Mississauga, ON or London, ON location. 

 

The Sr Account Manager works to Build multi-dimensional customer relationships to secure growth opportunities and profitable sales in Canada with a primary focus on liquid and dry flavours and a secondary focus on custom seasonings/flavour systems and other ingredients. This role will collaborate with key customer contacts/functional areas and promote/facilitate communications and relationship building between McCormick contacts and their counterparts within appropriate functional group. This role will develop excellent working relationships with McCormick internal Sales Operations and Business Unit functional areas (and other functional areas as necessary) in order to meet customer objectives and drive efficient and successful closure of opportunities.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and implement strategic and tactical business plans for Strategic and/or Critical customers within the territory and for all critical projects throughout the year, gaining approval with management and other key internal functional areas
  • Establish in-depth working customer relationships and manage activities at all levels within Purchasing, Supply Chain, Marketing, Technical, Operations, Finance, and other functional areas as necessary
  • Prioritize, manage, grow, and forecast opportunities within an innovation funnel in conjunction with internal Sales Operations and Business Unit functions to attain profitable sales growth
  • Accurately contribute to the volume/sales forecast of existing business based on direct customer input, business intelligence, analysis, and other factors
  • Implement customer pricing strategy to maximize profits as necessary
  • Be viewed as a critical contact for McCormick and drive customer penetration through innovation and proactive customer intimacy
  • Participation in flavour industry related events and associations

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum BA required in Business, Food Science, or related field; MBA is preferred
  • 5+ years selling liquid and dry flavours, seasoning blends, and other key ingredients to the health & nutrition product manufacturers and other custom food and beverage manufacturers.
  • Experience with using Salesforce.com or other similar CRM software in addition to having integrated Business Planning (IBP) experience
  • Working knowledge of technical aspects of products, i.e. nomenclature, applicability within customer's manufacturing process, substitution choices, new discoveries, etc.
  • Developed and demonstrable critical thinking skills and business acumen
  • Highly developed written and verbal communications skills that are clear, concise, and appropriate in timing and directed to appropriate audiences
  • Proven project management skills in a sales cycle from six weeks to eighteen months
  • Experience managing limited internal resources and prioritize appropriately
  • Ability to be innovative and take risks to drive new initiatives and new business
  • Travel is required for customer and business meetings; Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Highly motivated, self-starters who are forward thinking problem solvers with excellent contacts and strong work ethics
