Grower Supply Planner, McCormick Australia

This role provides the opportunity to be involved with the seasonal planning/scheduling of herb and spice crops from planting through to harvest and processing through the factory


The Role

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the continued supply of raw horticultural material to meet the ongoing maintenance, growth and development of the business.  Raw herb crop scheduling from contract growers into the factory for processing.  We are looking for someone recently graduated or has experience liaising with agriculture/horticulture growers. 


Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to.

  • Assist in scheduling of growing/supply windows and management of grower delivery schedules. Driven by season
  • Assist in management of raw agricultural material to meet relevant specifications and supply into the factory with minimum variability in product quality and composition. This ranges through establishment of crops to harvesting, cold room and trucking and monitoring of crop deliveries
  • Assist in maintaining seasonal crop reporting including tracking of volumes as per contracted tonnages throughout crop seasons
  • Ensure relevant food safety and other relevant standards are met by regular on farm visits/audits
  • Contribute to the integrated business planning process (IBP)
  • Liaise across other disciplines within the company to ensure continual improvement


About You

You will have a passion for horticultrue and will have recently completed a tertiary qualification in Agriculture/horticulture including research, development and rural business management.


The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to liaise across numerous sectors and departments including external contracted growers, production, supply chain, quality and logistics.  


In addition to the above, you may also have.

  • On-Farm Food Certifications (Freshcare, HARPS, Organic)
  • Experience working with processing, on farm digital traceability programs (Power Apps, Muddy Boots, SAP)
  • High level of interpersonal skills demonstrating the ability to work with cross functional teams
  • Problem Solving Skills (assist in managing raw material supply due to disruptions caused by weather events, disease etc)
  • Ability to develop ongoing improvements to current systems including crops, crop hygiene, machinery development, cold room systems etc
