Innovation Manager, McCormick Australia

This role will report the Marketing Director and will lead the generation of consumer-driven innovation, products, initiatives, and culture. Working with consumers and cross functional teams, you will build a pipeline of new products & commercial programs development to deliver our long-term business growth ambition.

Role Responsibilities   

  • Manage the vision and processes to instill a culture of consumer-led innovation across all functions and locations of McCormick Australia.
  • Through engaging with consumers, customers and cross-functional teams, lead the generation of multi-year new product development pipelines and commercial programs for existing and new brands & categories.
  • Facilitate cross-functional innovation teams building on McCormick Growth Behaviours, improved capability & procedures, and championing a new agile, consumer-led innovation culture.
  • Manage project sprints and deep dives, using project plans, tools & strong communication skills to align stakeholders and ensure projects deliverables are delivered to set timelines and budget.
  • Report on pre-gate innovation pipeline status and ensure projects are being effectively transitioned into the stage-gate system for commercialisation.


Technical Skills & Experience Required   

  • Bachelor Degree in Food Technology, Product Development, Marketing or related discipline
  • 3+ years experience leading new product development and/or innovation initiatives at a category or enterprise level, with a strong grasp of consumer behaviour and innovation process.
  • 3+ years developing experience strategies and managing multiple complex projects from concept to delivery, including driving overall project plans.
  • Practical understanding of FMCG food product development including culinary application, formulation development and manufacturing. Foundational understanding of marketing and business.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to balance creativity and curiosity with practicality and tenacity. They will be a strong and visionary communicator, collaborative and will rise to a challenge.
