About the Role

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Officer (Analyst) to join our Palmwoods manufacturing site. Reporting to the Supply Planning Manager, you will be responsible for the procurement and coordination of indirect materials and services that support site operations.

 

Working closely with manufacturing, maintenance, quality, finance and external suppliers, you will manage end-to-end purchasing activities while ensuring procurement governance, supplier performance, system integrity and continuous improvement initiatives are effectively supported.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Managing indirect purchasing activities, including raising and processing purchase orders in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services while proactively resolving supply issues.
  • Supporting operational teams with purchasing requirements and ensuring compliance with procurement processes, including "No PO No Pay" requirements.
  • Maintaining supplier relationships and coordinating forecasting activities to support business requirements.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and assisting with sourcing initiatives and commercial discussions.
  • Maintaining supplier and procurement master data within QAD, ensuring accuracy of pricing, item records and scheduling information.
  • Producing procurement reports and analysis to support KPI monitoring, supplier performance reviews and product costing activities.
  • Driving continuous improvement opportunities, supporting audits and governance requirements, and contributing to cost-saving and productivity initiatives.

 

About You

 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

 

  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain or a similar analytical role.
  • Exposure to a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong systems capability, ideally with ERP systems such as QAD.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and supplier relationship skills.
  • A proactive mindset with a continuous improvement focus.
  • Understanding of procurement governance, compliance and purchasing controls.

 

What Success Looks Like

 

In this role, success means ensuring indirect materials and services are available when needed to support site operations, while maintaining compliance with procurement processes and delivering excellent service to internal stakeholders.

 

You will build strong supplier partnerships, maintain accurate procurement data, provide meaningful reporting and insights, contribute to cost and process improvement initiatives, and help drive efficient, reliable and compliant purchasing outcomes across the Palmwoods site.
