This is a great opportunity to join our team and continue the great work in bringing to life our condiments manufacturing facility, located in Peterborough, UK. Our vision is to build a sustainable, innovative McCormick factory-of-the-future to support our Flavour Solutions customers.

 

Junior Quality Engineer will lead and execute practical implementation and operation adherence to quality systems and food safety requirements in line with internal and customer expectations and according to international standards. The role will be key point of contact for the operations team with respect to implementation of projects related to commissioning of the site.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage Quality and Food Safety systems and programs within operations as per the standards set by the quality governance team, including, complaints, glass and hard plastic control, Internal Audits and Statistical control analysis.
  • Support and ensure the operational staff receive relevant training and achieve the minimum agreed understanding of the training and how it applies to their role within McCormick.
  • Review and implement projects across site impacting Quality and Food Safety.
  • Review and conduct statistical analysis within Quality Control processes within Manufacturing.
  • Take part in Commissioning and projects to aid with the launch of the manufacturing site.
  • Deputise as appropriate for the Quality Continuous Improvement Lead, including the day-to-day management of the teams and any associated activities.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment would be an asset.
  • Further educated to Higher National Certificate or equivalent.
  • Practical experience in the application of BRC, HACCP implementation, allergen management would be an advantage.
  • Green Belt six sigma or equivalent.
  • Practical experience in the application of Lean Techniques (including RCA & CAPA management), quality systems management including complaints management, internal auditing, allergen management.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, MES and Power BI would be advantageous. 
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to provide supervision, conduct competency assessments and deliver trainings.
