QA Lab Crew Lead

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Conduct quality sampling, analysis & reporting for raw materials, work in progress, finished products and environmental samples.
  • Creation and management of finished goods inspection plans, including the provision of analytical data as required
  • Timely and accurate maintenance of data systems to ensure compliance to traceability standards and key performance indicators
  • Adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP), good laboratory practices (GLP) and master cleaning schedules (MCS)
  • Compliance with Company, Third party and Customer standards demonstrated by successful completion of Inter-lab proficiency schemes, routine refresher training and competency assessments.
  • Calibration and maintenance of lab equipment
  • Training of operational teams in conducting analytical testing and the management of quality and food safety related activities within manufacturing
  • Deputising in absence of QA Lab lead, carrying out key QA Lab Lead activities, including the supervision of QA Technicians.
  • Ownership of lab MCS, gold standard material program and equipment maintenance and calibration schedules
  • QA lab representative on the plant HACCP, Food Safety and Health & Safety teams
  • The Nutritional Sampling & Analysis, CL is responsible for managing the end-to-end process of nutritional sampling for finished food products. This role ensures that all samples are collected, documented, stored, and sent to external laboratories in compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements. The coordinator also verifies results and maintains data integrity for labeling and regulatory claims.
  • Conducting traceability as per schedule and supporting external audits
  • Conducting internal audits

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

 

  • Further educated to Higher National Certificate or equivalent
  • Similar role in a manufacturing environment working within Quality Management Systems.  Supervisory experience would be preferential. 
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team. 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with multiple levels within the business as well as with external contactors.
  • Ability to provide supervision, conduct competency assessments and deliver training.
  • Working knowledge of SAP would be advantageous.
  • PC literate as a minimum.
  • Attention to detail. 
  • Ability to interpret analytical and microbiological data.
  • Willing and capable to learn new skills. 
  • Must be willing to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective and preventative action plans.
