R&D Pilot Plant Technician

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Optimises the ways of working for the pilot plant facility including procedures, Pilot plant schedules, raw materials supply /replenishment, SAP transactions, storage raw materials/finished products, analytical testing requirements
• Manages the pilot plant equipment, regarding GMP, trials, servicing and PPM and new equipment
• Manages the Health, safety and hygiene requirements of the pilot plant and lab to ensure policy and legal requirements are always met
• Maintains the GMP of the R&D warehouse facility
• Maintains the GMP, servicing & maintenance of the R&D Analytical Laboratory
• Co-ordinates the activities of the development team and pilot plant use to support delivery of NSV and CCI budget requirements
• Pro-actively investigates for new technologies/raw materials and processes
• Interacts with suppliers and the general marketplace to ensure awareness of up to date ingredients and technologies are employed in new developments
• Support the Centre of Excellence (Wet) with expertise and practical support as required

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Experience within the food industry in an Operations/Quality or Technical role
• HND Food Science/Food Technology (or equivalent) would be an advantage, but not essential
• Experience in sauce production
• Good attention to detail
• Good understanding of Quality, Food Safety, Regulatory and Customer requirements
• Capacity and capability to take initiative and work independently
• Able to manage several different projects and priorities at the same time
• Able to work effectively cross-functionally across the business, and as part of a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
