This new hire will work in the Salinas Distribution Center, located at 340 El Camino Real, South, Suite #20 in Salinas, CA. The PCC Specialist will report to a Team Manager.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The PCC (Pre-Cleaned Commodities) Specialist Technician position will be responsible for the safe unloading and palletizing of containers at SDC. The containers will be unloaded using the conveyor unloading system or through a manual process. This person will utilize various systems to process in priority order and with the correct quality measures in place. Container unloading at the SDC is a high-profile process and mission-critical to the success of McCormick’s supply chain. Under the general supervision of the Team Manager, the PCC Specialist will be responsible for:

 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up the area prior to the arrival of the Material Handlers (i.e., pallets
    dropped trash and cardboard bins are placed) to ensure they can get off to a fast start.
  • Set up or verify Staging Lanes are clear.
  • Verify Container Readiness (Labels printed, First Article is complete, and
    Samples are provided to QA).
  • Check Staffing Needs and Adjust where necessary.
  • Transport the Material Handlers to and from the work area at the start of the shift and during breaks as needed.
  • Communicate if there are any HOT containers by prioritizing the need.
  • Be able to troubleshoot the machine for simple breakdowns.
  • Be able to document all reasons for work stoppage.
  • Communicate to the Crew Leader on what pieces of equipment is needed.
  • Verify All materials are staged and verified though LT27 and LX03
  • Post Clean up (GMP) standards. Area Ownership.
  • Coordinate with getting trailers removed and new trailers set up in the door for next shift
  • Expected to continue to have the roles and responsibilities of Distribution Technician if not performing the PCC technician role.
  • Ability to communicate and direct the agency associates on daily tasks and responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   

 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years of experience in Warehouse/Distribution
  • Proficient in SAP transactions
  • Proven ability to multi-task
  • Basic MS office knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to obtain a forklift license via McCormick
  • Ability to work in an environment with exposure to spice dust and odors, noise and vibration
  • Ability to work in an environment that is subject to temperature extremes
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on a continual basis and 25-50 pounds on a frequent basis

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Open Dock System
  • Experience using radio frequency terminal
  • 4+ years of experience in Warehouse/Distribution.
