McCormick & Company, Incorporated, a global leader in flavor, is seeking a Facility Support Crew LeaderThis individual will work at the French’s Distribution Center located in Springfield, MO. 

POSITION OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Facilities, Quality and Inventory Manager, this role provides leadership to a high-performing functional team within a fast-paced operations environment. The position is responsible for driving team performance to achieve key objectives aligned with site scorecard metrics and OGSMs, including cost control, site budgeting, quality assurance, inventory management, maintenance, safety, and sanitation.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of operational workflows and cross-functional procedures. Must have a strong maintenance background. Proficiency in systems such as SAP, Dolphin, and Ariba is essential. This role also involves collaboration with external vendors on site initiatives, capital (CAAP) projects, and continuous improvement (CCI) efforts.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure overall team performance in key areas such as quality, safety, reliability, waste reduction, maintenance, and sanitation to achieve business objectives.

• Proactively drive continuous improvement and support daily problem-solving initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.

• Lead the Facility Support Team in alignment with McCormick’s High-Performance System, core beliefs, and guiding principles.

• Apply strong coaching and facilitation skills to support effective employee relations and team engagement.

• Coordinate and schedule crew vacation requests and manage overtime needs to maintain adequate staffing levels.

• Create and manage purchase orders (POs) for the Maintenance Department, ensuring timely procurement of parts and materials.

• Oversee all preventative maintenance (PM) services for forklifts, prioritizing repair needs while adhering to the monthly maintenance budget.

• Communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization—upward, downward, and laterally.

• Maintain close collaboration with the Distribution Center Manager and Finance Team to support the development and management of the annual budget.

• Prepare for and lead the annual AIB audit by ensuring all documentation is current, cleanliness standards are met, and required information is readily available for auditors.

• Ensure compliance with all city regulations by maintaining up-to-date site inspections and permits with the City of Springfield.

• Coordinate with vendors for site-related projects and repairs, ensuring project timelines and requirements are met.

• Generate and manage POs for all vendor projects, parts, office supplies, and sanitation needs.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three years of manufacturing, Distribution and/or industrial experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage preventative maintenance on all equipment required.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose mechanical problems and resolve minor mechanical issues required.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand financial impact of business decision affecting staffing, maintenance, facility components and quality, inventory required.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, Word, and Lotus Notes required. 
  • Demonstrated ability to pro-actively encourage continuous improvement and daily problem-solving initiatives required.
  • Proven ability to coach, train and influence while demonstrating a deep respect for all employees.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking skills to determine risk assessment required.
  • Ability to work overtime/weekends required.

 

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Proficiency with SAP, Dolphin, Ariba, as well as Microsoft PowerPoint and Access is preferred.
• Demonstrated application of leadership principles is required; formal leadership training is strongly preferred.
• Proven experience in leading and facilitating team meetings and cross-functional collaboration is strongly preferred.
