Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Team Manager, the Maintenance Workleader manages and directs all activities and processes related to the daily management of predictive, preventive and proactive maintenance programs to improve process reliability (PR) while reducing maintenance costs. The Maintenance Workleader is responsible for the complete maintenance and inspection on individual pieces of equipment. This position will also support the core reliability processes (Autonomous Maintenance, Early Equipment Management, Training and Focused Improvement.)

 Responsibilities:

  • Leading and developing direct reports while fostering a team environment,
  • Meeting or exceeding established goals (safety, sanitation, PR%, cost, and waste, quality (Q% and 5S)), loss reduction, reliability improvement and other performance standards related to process and packaging systems.
  • Supports and develops HPO teams to ensure that information flow / communication processes, personnel development
  • Problem-solving, goal-setting and process improvement (e.g. A3, PDCA, Breakdown Analysis and 5Why) are all integral parts of daily core work. This includes leading daily cross shift communications of relevant shift activities (adjustments, parts/settings changes, downtime, planned & unplanned work)
  • Ensuring all safety incident reporting follows proper protocols; will ensure monthly, quarterly, yearly required training are completed for direct reports; will ensure required work orders are reviewed and completed daily and will develop actions from completed work orders.
  • Coordinates technician and contract resources to meet objectives, monitors activities and leads the escalation process and decision making to drive closure to plant losses. Identifies, analyses, and reduces equipment losses;
  • Eliminate reoccurring system failures and interacts cross-functionally to resolve issues.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

 

  • Acceptable attendance required.
  • Meets standards in overall performance rating in most recent performance review.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five  years of maintenance, manufacturing experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate and solve problems, ability to diagnose mechanical problems and resolve minor mechanical and processing problems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, CMMS - Maximo and SAP required.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to direct and support the activities of others required.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form required
  • Ability to effectively facilitate meetings, lead problem solving initiatives and deliver training required. (Safety, Food Safety etc.)
  • Ability to work overtime/weekends required.
