Maintenance Planner

Primary duties:

  • Coordinate PM, APM and TPM activities, resources and materials, by proactively communicating with production schedulers concerning maintenance activities that impact production line availability.
  • Work with the Crew Leaders & Team Manager’s to coordinate and update schedule changes and resource availability.
  • Schedule time for maintenance mechanics.
  • Ensure effective support for flawless start-up and normal operational activities through the provision of scheduled proactive maintenance, inspection and testing tasks, supporting plans and detailed bills of material that can be managed by the available resources.
  • Ensure maintenance work is focused on planned and scheduled activities, mandatory maintenance, tests and inspections.
  • Ensure the correct priority setting of maintenance activities.
  • Ensure an accurate library of plans is maintained for proactive and mandatory maintenance activities.
  • Ensure support for the area maintenance teams with the development of minor contract scope and counter estimates for proactive maintenance activities that will be contracted out.
  • Help the Area Production Manager to maintain an opportunity shutdown schedule including spare parts for any outstanding corrective maintenance work.
  • Prepare plans, and scope for maintenance activities defined as proactive, mandatory and corrective the Maintenance Planner will ensure support for equipment related improvement schedules to include.
  • PM’s, APM’s, AM & FI schedules.
  • Manage the CMMS database to ensure work orders are documented, executed upon and closed with the correct data entered into the system.Maintain the area Key Performance Indicators for proactive maintenance. 
  • Assist in the implementation of a world-class operations readiness development program from an early project stage by developing and maintaining proactive and mandatory maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Assist, and in some areas play a leading role in training for maintenance planning in line with McCormick’s Game Plan.
  • Contribute to establishing a culture based on commercial and technical transparency and professional competence with a common focused commitment to reliability.
  • Develop new systems, procedures and working instructions.
  • Create a working environment that is challenging and encourages efficient work processes through the development of ownership at all levels, technical competence, continuous improvement, multi-disciplinary team working and delegated leadership

 

Required Experience

  • Five years of maintenance, manufacturing experience and/or maintenance scheduling and planning experience. Basic understanding of the supply chain for maintenance equipment is required.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects and provide creative solutions to problems.
  • Experience with with process/programmable controllers and AC/DC drives in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) environment.
  • Must have knowledge and experience with packaging equipment.
  • Ability to develop reports to track equipment performance and monitor maintenance execution.
  • Intermediate to advanced capability with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, Chase CMMS and SAP. Excellent attendance required. Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, drawings, and machine maintenance manuals.
  • Technical degree or training, leadership experience, planning and Autonomous Maintenance experience.
  • High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.
