Production Mechanic

This new hire will work at the Springfield Plant and will report to the Maintenance Packaging Manager.  This position will start on D shift - Thursday (Wed) 1:00am - 7:00am, Thursday - Saturday 7:00pm - 7:00am.  The pay is $30.88 per hour, with a shift differential of $1.50 on D shift.  Employees can bid to different shifts as they become available.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the Team Manager, the Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting mechanical equipment and making repairs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lockout Authorized
• Troubleshooting Mechanic and Repairs
• Machine Adjustments with Tools
• Minor Fabrication of Parts
• Electrical Troubleshooting and Repairs
• Read Schematics and Blueprints
• Limited PLC Troubleshooting
• Preventive Maintenance
• Product Changeover
• Implement Ideas to Improve Line Efficiencies
• Quality Checks
• Housekeeping
• Material Handling
• Maintain good safety practices.
• Act as an emergency brigade for fires, searches, and/or evacuations as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have at least three (3) years industrial maintenance experience.
• Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
• Must be very detail oriented and have strong interpersonal, communication and team based skills.
• Being a self-starter as well as a problem-solver are required assets.
• Be able to work a rotating 12 hour shift – hours can vary.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Additional recent technical training preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
