POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the general direction of the Hygiene Lead and/or QA Manager, the Sanitation and Allergen Validation Specialist will work in a High-Performance Organization Operating Model environment working cross-functionally to perform sanitation & allergen validations for the French's site. This role is critical in maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and allergen control in our facilities to ensure food safety and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sanitation protocols, allergen control measures, and quality assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute validation protocols for sanitation and allergen control processes.
- Implement and oversee sanitation processes to maintain a clean and safe production environment.
- Analyze data from validation activities and prepare detailed reports for internal and regulatory use.
- Aid in performance metrics tracking as they relate to Sanitation (i.e. MSS Completion rates, Sanitation & Allergen validation, etc.) and work collaboratively with various levels of Operations to correct problems and improve process.
- Partnering cross functionally with planning, maintenance, and operations teams to perform sanitation & allergen validations.
- Perform routine allergen swabbing, sampling, and validation to confirm the absence of cross-contamination.
- Perform risk assessments and recommend improvements to enhance allergen control measures.
- Document and maintain detailed records of sanitation activities and allergen validation tests.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Production teams to address and resolve sanitation or allergen-related concerns.
- Conduct regular inspections of cleaning equipment and tools to ensure they are functional and compliant with safety standards.
- Stay up to date with industry regulations and best practices in allergen management and sanitation.
- Assist in training production staff on sanitation protocols and allergen awareness.
- Ability to work overtime on a short notice and required weekend work.
- Ability to be flexible with shift and workday assignments to support business need requirements.
- Actively promote safety and identify unsafe actions and conditions using a principle-based safety approach.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, sanitation, or allergen control is a plus.
- Strong understanding of HACCP principles and food safety regulations (e.g., FSMA, FDA).
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Requires attention to detail in making evaluative judgements based on the analysis of factual information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Expected to resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of technical experience and review of precedents.
- Sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange complicated information, including sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED preffered; along with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field.
- Strong understanding of SAP transactions (Quality focused) and SAP results/data
