McCormick & Company, Inc., a global leader in the spice, flavor, and seasonings industry, is seeking a full-time Maintenance Workleader on 2nd shift (Monday-Friday, 2pm-10pm) This new hire will work at the Maryland Logistics Center, located in Sparrows Point, MD

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Set the direction of shift team and ensure overall performance of the team to meet objectives for productivity and process reliability.
  • Participates in cross-functional improvement teams and problem-solving activities
  • Provides technical expertise for both mechanical and electrical issues escalated by Maintenance technicians. Coaches’ maintenance technician to increase skill development
  • Investigate and communicate root cause failure analysis, including recommending and implement resolutions.
  • Communicate daily with Team Managers & team and follow up on corrective action assignments.
  • Participate in the interview process, on-boarding and early development of team members
  • Performs Technician job duties as needed

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED/ AA - Industrial Maintenance
  • Minimum of 3 years Manufacturing experience, to include proven experience in problem solving; industrial mechanical and electrical experience
  • Minimum of 1 year informal Leadership experience; ability to provide daily direction / coaching
  • Able to find situational clarity (where to go, what to do) within the Plant
  • Ability to teach/coach others how own area/team interacts with other areas/teams within the Plant and contributes to the Plant results
  • Understands a manufacturing environment, the industrial maintenance field, and how Plant performance impacts Supply Chain function, customers and consume
  • Holds self and team accountable for following processes and standards and achieving results. Maintains professionalism and flexibility in uncertain or stressful encounters. Communicates effectively, orally/written, up, down and across. Facilitates and promotes teamwork & team discussions.
    • Technicians/Operators – set direction, building capability, solve problems, identify & prioritize losses
    • Plant Leaders – communicate information, develop self
    • Cross Functional Teams - identify & prioritize losses, eliminate losses
  • Office 365 & SAP or other enterprise resource planning tool
  • Strong coordination ability, influence to provide daily direction and coaching.
