McCormick & Company, Inc., a global leader in the spice, flavor, and seasonings industry, is seeking a full-time PCC Specialist Technician for its Maryland Logistics Center (MLC) in Sparrows Point, MD. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, solid technical skills, logistics experience, and excel at teamwork. The PCC Specialist Technician will report to a Warehouse Team Manager in Zone 3.

POSITION OVERVIEW: 

The PCC Specialist Technician position will be responsible for the safe unloading and palletizing of containers at the MLC.  The containers will be unloaded using the conveyor unloading system or through a manual process.  This person will utilize various systems to process in priority order and with the correct quality measures in place.  Container unloading at the MLC is a high-profile process and mission critical to the success of McCormick’s supply chain.   

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Under the general supervision of the Team Manager, the PCC Specialist Technician is responsible for: 

  • Set up the area prior to the arrival of the Material Handlers (i.e., pallets dropped trash and cardboard bins are placed) to ensure they can get off to a fast start.  

  • Set-up or verify Staging Lanes are clear. 

  • Verify Container Readiness (Labels printed, First Article is complete, and Samples are provided to QA) 

  • Check Staffing Needs and Adjust where necessary.   

  • Transport the Material Handlers to and from the work area at the start of the shift and during breaks as needed.  

  • Communicate if there are any HOT containers by prioritizing the need.  

  • Be able to troubleshoot the machine for simple breakdowns. 

  • Be able to document all reasons for work stoppage. 

  • Communicate to the Crew Leader on what pieces of equipment is needed.  

  • Verify All materials are staged and verified though LT27 and LX03 

  • Post Clean up (GMP) standards. Area Ownership.  

  • Coordinate with getting trailers removed and new trailers set up in the door for next shift. 

  • Expected to continue to have the roles and responsibilities of Distribution Technician if not performing the PCC technician role.   

  • Ability to communicate and direct the agency associates on daily tasks and responsibilities.  

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Trained on multiple PIT Equipment 

  • Proficient on SAP Transactions 

  • Proficient in researching and locating lost pallets 

  • Three (3) Years of Experience in Warehouse/Distribution 

  • Leadership/Communication Skills 

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.  

  • Proven ability to multi-task 

  • Basic MS Office knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 

  • Regular onsite attendance required 

  • Ability to work overtime as business needs dictate sometimes with short notice 

  • No Safety Violations or Active Discipline 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Four (4) Years of Experience in Warehouse/Distribution 

  • Must be able to work in raw material environment (strong smells) 

  • Must be willing to be trained on the unloading system (conveyors) 

  • Experience with or ability to learn and utilize Open Dock System 

  • Experience with or ability to learn and utilize Maintain X System 

  • Experience with or ability to learn and utilize Shuttle Portal (Ritter)

Base Salary: $19.58 - $29.38

 

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan/ McCormick’s Sales Incentive Bonus (SIB) Plan/ McCormick’s Dividend Program.
