McCormick & Company, Inc., a world leader in the spice, flavor and seasonings industry, is seeking a full time Training Manager.. This new hire will work in Spice Mill Plant, located in Hunt Valley, MD. The Training Manager will report to a Continuous Improvement Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Manage training process for the Spice Mill from developing qualified
    trainers and training materials through scheduling of training sessions and monitoring progress
  • Manage entry level on-boarding processes, skill development and
    validation of technical competency, and management development
  • Provide training for Standard Operating Procedures, Job Aids and One Point
    lessons
  • Track, audit, and measure the training efficiency results from training that is
    provided
  • Responsible for overall preparation and maintenance of training tools, checklists
    and procedures
  • Primary support of new technologies as they become available
  • Coordinate and prepare training schedules to accommodate facility needs
  • Formulates plans and corrective measures
  • Ensure adequate manpower availability during training activities for
    efficient operational needs
  • Collaborate with the Spice Mill leadership team, Human Relations, Quality
  • Dep’t, the Safety and Health Manager, and Learning and Development Center

 
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/BA in Education, Psychology, Human Resources Development, or a
    closely related field required
  • College level course work in Education, Human Resources, Psychology,
    and/or related fields required
  • Minimum 2 years relevant training experience required
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills required
  • Experience and the proven ability to successfully facilitate adult audiences
    of small to large groups required
  • Experience developing training programs required
  • Ability to interact and influence at all levels of the organization required
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and MS Powerpoint required
  • Creativity, flexibility, high energy, and the ability to work cross-functionally
    required
  • Experience and the proven ability to link training initiatives to overall
    business strategy and business objectives required
  • A deep respect for the capabilities of all people, required
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet the
    business demands of a 3 shift operation, required
  • Experience training in a production/manufacturing environment strongly
    preferred
  • Experience working in a High Performance Organization and/or Self Directed
    Work Team environment preferred
  • Experience with People Change Management and in adult learning theory
    preferred
