We are looking to hire a Program Lead immediately in a Hybrid (50/50) capacity at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, MD Or Geneva, IL.

Position Summary:
The Program Lead is responsible for the execution of Flavor Solutions external education programs for the $1.2 billion McCormick Flavor Solutions business. This role drives educational efforts on multiple fronts, through both Community Education and Customer Education (Flavor University) as well as supporting industry educational efforts. This role supports planning, coordinating, registration and driving the strategic execution of the programs, directly connected to more than $25 million in confirmed opportunity value annually. This role requires a passion for food science education, community outreach, and brand building within a dynamic industry. This role requires developing deep relationships and collaboration with commercial and technical teams as well as industry and community partners. This person leads curriculum and presentation development alongside scientific faculty leads, directing their efforts and collaborating for excellent programming. In addition, this person will support industry speaking engagements, ensuring a positive view of McCormick experts in the industry. Domestic travel to customer education events required, 15-20% travel per year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program leader of Flavor Solutions Community Education platform, growing and expanding the important program to positively reflect the flavor solutions business.
- Leads the planning, facilitation, promotion and strategic execution of in-person community education events. Key lead regarding class scheduling, site locations, logistic arrangements, hospitality and overall attendee experience for on-site classes. Manages attendee list ensuring accuracy and occupancy.
- Oversees and collaborates with subject-matter experts across the business to maintain curriculum quality, course cadence, and continued success. Maintains and builds crucial working relationships cross-functionally (including with scientists, lab personnel, regulatory, sales, etc.) to ensure success of programming.
- Manages and processes registrations, working directly with attendees on their needs, preferences, and accommodations. Develops strong working relationships with community partners.
- Develops strategic ways to improve, innovate and scale the approach to Community Education.
- Supports the customer education program, Flavor University, contributing to the success of the renowned program. Providing input on content and curriculum as well as logistical & coordination assistance on multiple fronts.
- Supports Flavor University program lead through facilitation and administration of in-person classes. Completes logistical needs such as attendee registrations, demo prep, catering, and course materials.
- Travels to and supports Flavor University regional classes. At regional courses serves as on-site facilitator, decision maker and problem-solver.
- Partners with Customer Education program lead on all Flavor University offerings, including providing input regarding digital offerings such as podcasts & webinars.
- Drives Industry Outreach & education, expanding involvement and growing the organization’s standing and participation in key industry associations.
- Leads the planning, facilitation, promotion and strategic execution of industry outreach opportunities. Oversees and collaborates with subject-matter experts across the business to offer speakers bureau offerings and coordinate the execution.
- Recruits and coaches subject matter experts such as scientists, chemists, regulatory experts, and product line managers in their industry speaking engagements.
- Domestic travel to industry & customer education events required, 15-20% travel per year.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Food Science, Marketing, Communications, Education or related field
- 2+ years in food, beverage or ingredient industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong executive presence; adept at engaging diverse stakeholders
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and project management skills
- Experience expanding products or programs across diverse business sectors or geographical regions
- Proven ability to communicate complex concepts into digestible educational content and/or communication materials.
- Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with cross-functional colleagues as well as external partners
- Exceptional organization skills and proven attention to detail
- Experience in science or laboratory, or education background a plus
- Event planning and coordination experience a plus
