We are looking to hire a Director, Marketing - Savory at either our global headquarters in Hunt Valley, MD or our McFONA labs in Geneva, IL. The role will be eligible to participate on our hybrid work program (50% onsite per month).
OVERVIEW:
McCormick and Co is looking for a Director of Marketing that can sit at either our Hunt Valley, MD or Geneva, IL locations (hybrid eligible). This position is responsible for the strategic direction, development and execution of plans and activities for the Savory business in U.S. Flavor Solutions. This position will develop key customer and segment strategies that align with business objectives, resulting in mutually beneficial plans that drive sales and profit for the organization. It will also directly influence and enroll leadership, key technical and sales partners as well as cross-functional teams across strategies and activations. This position manages and develops marketing managers and product (segment) managers, including high talent employees and reports to the Vice President, Food Business Unit.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops long-term plan and sets strategic vision for McCormick’s Savory flavors platform in close collaboration with technical leaders, other marketing resources and BU leader.
- Presents plans to divisional and company leadership. Ensures plans are implemented and resources are in place to achieve long-term growth goals.
- Determines where to compete through market sizing and category segmentation.
- Plans, directs, and coordinates the efforts of internal and external resources in savory platform management and customer marketing to achieve goals and objectives.
- Analyzes and synthesizes information and data on food industry, market dynamics, consumer trends, consumer product segments, and competitive landscape. Serves as the Savory subject matter expert and demonstrates in depth knowledge for Savory market segments.
- Identifies new business opportunities, growth platforms, and market technology needs. Assesses market potential of strategic initiatives and new technology.
- Promotes Savory capabilities and expertise to generate new revenue opportunities. Provides direction on how to best position McCormick Savory Flavors from an industry perspective and deliver consistent brand messaging across Savory platform and focus market segments
- Manage activities aligned to Savory P&L performance with goal of supporting portfolio growth & margin improvement
- Drives Sales enablement and effectiveness by defining customer segmentation and works with Sales Directors to develop key account plans
- Responsible for talent development and succession, engagement, and management of multiple direct reports
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BSc in Marketing or related discipline
- 14+ years experience in Marketing within a flavor or CPG company
- 10+ years experience directly leading and managing marketing teams
- Proven ability to analyze data and trends to develop a unique market position that delivers growth
- Ability to collaborate, network & build strong working relationships with internal/external stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Creative problem-solving and troubleshooting
- Critical thinking; qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
- Solid knowledge of food and/or health market and industry
- Ability to travel up to 50%
Base Salary: $140,610-253,080
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan/ McCormick’s Sales Incentive Bonus (SIB) Plan/ McCormick’s Dividend Program.
