Position Summary:
The Executive Chef/Senior Culinary Manager will be responsible for shaping culinary strategy and providing account support for the US Food Away from Home business including National Accounts, QSR, Non-Commercial and Distributor businesses. Leads the McCormick for Chef culinary team to influence and deliver business-building ideas, new products, and transformational content. Responsible for managing the personnel and activities of the US FAFH Culinary team needed to drive innovation and deliver new products, recipes and content in support of the McCormick for Chefs portfolio including McCormick Culinary, Frank’s RedHot®, Cholula®, Cattlemen’s and more. Responsible for proactively supporting culinary in strategic planning, evaluation, and execution of Innovation, Marketing & Sales plans that incorporate the principles and best practices of product, recipe and content development that drive results. Responsible for delivering solutions and influencing business-building food ideas to exceed our customers’ and operators’ expectations. Ability to travel between 25-50% of the time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads the team to work cross-functionally on projects to provide culinary expertise through product, recipe, and concept creation. Ensures culinary voice is present from front-end design through final product/content delivery. Works closely with PD, Sales, Marketing, Insights, Content teams and others to deliver best in class products, presentations, recipes, and content internally and externally.
- Actively provides culinary and strategic leadership for US FAFH Culinary Team for external and internal customers, operators and projects. Fully represents the scope of the product portfolio and McCormick’s capabilities to drive growth for the Food Away from Home business. Supervises and participates in the development of gold standard recipes and culinary prototypes for new product concepts, line extensions and digital content. Executes high-level culinary presentations internally and to customers to position McCormick as a thought leader and crucial partner in flavor and to grow the business.
- Implements and evolves best-in-class practices/procedures for culinary presentations, recipe, content and product development. Leads initiatives to drive and use technology to evolve grow the culinary competency.
- Leads team to track and share broadly with teams - food and flavor trends, including cuisines, ingredients, preparation methods, equipment, demographic and generational preferences. Leads process of turning insights into action by creating trend based proto-types to share with internal and external teams.
- Responsible for on-going coaching, development and management of direct reports. Includes providing feedback on performance, setting OGSM to drive business initiatives and Development Plans to ensure staff development and career progression.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS – Culinary / Culinary Nutrition / Culinary Science or AA Culinary degree with significant related industry experience
- CEC, CRC, CCS preferred
- 10-12 years’ Culinary Development experience including working with national account restaurant chains, QSR chains and/or non-commercial foodservice companies in the College and University, Healthcare/Senior Living and Business dining segments.
- Experience in creating branded l foodservice-centric recipes and content for websites and marketing materials.
- Experience developing culinary strategies.
- Experience managing a team of direct reports and working seamlessly cross-functionally and with tight deadlines
- Completes difficult technical assignments which require a comprehensive knowledge of, and experience in, culinary product development, menu design, and back-of-house operations for a variety of industry segments.
- Applies advanced technical knowledge, initiative, and creativity in assignments. Experience in creating written menu concepts and culinary gold standard recipes based on customer needs and objectives. Understand how to incorporate trends and data into projects.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product Development, Sales, Marketing, Insights and Content teams. Food manufacturing experience preferred.
- Significant experience in presenting product portfolio, culinary concepts and finished dishes to clients with the ability to provide rational, trends and insights data to support the concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Ability to lead and influence to continue to move the department forward and obtain results for the business.
- Excellent problem-solving skills on complex projects when dealing with limited or ambiguous details or information
- Excellent presentation skills and proficiency speaking in front of groups including senior leaders
- Strong project management skills

Base Salary: $121,900 - $219,410
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
