McCormick Canada is currently looking to hire a Trade Marketing Manager to join our Sales Enablement Team. This hybrid position will be based out of our Mississauga, Ontario office. Reporting to the Director of Trade Marketing, Category Management & Sales Operations, the Trade Marketing Manager is the strategic, cross-functional lead and primary link between Sales and Marketing. This role will work closely with Sales and Marketing, leveraging brand strategies to develop and launch customer-relevant plans and programs, to maximize volume, market share and profit growth. This role provides critical leadership across annual account planning, translating strategic direction from marketing plans into specific sales strategies, and customer-facing materials to enable successful sell in by Sales. In addition, this role collaborates with Revenue Management and Sales to provide strategic guidance on development and execution of trade promotions that support and drive national business objectives. A successful candidate must be able to demonstrate both big-picture thinking, and attention to detail, leveraging prior experience and retailer knowledge to deliver executable, detailed strategies. An entrepreneurial mindset and ownership attitude are critical to achieving results.  

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Develop and lead the National Account Planning process, providing support to Sales to ensure McCormick annual goals and key strategies are incorporated into account plans
  • Formalize Sales Key Initiatives with goals for the fiscal year along with providing leadership over performance tracking
  • Translate and manage strategic direction from Marketing plans (annual and ad hoc) into specific strategies for Sales along with National head office sell-in presentations (including for innovation)
  • Develop tools for the Sales team including Account Planning materials, sell sheets, and national trade-facing launch decks to drive buy-in of priority customer programs. 
  • With support from cross-functional partners, create promotional guidelines and analyze 4Ps to deliver Sales Performance Goals [i.e. Set Sales Guidelines: Pricing Strategy, Promotional Plans, SKU priorities] Drive execution of 4P fundamentals across all McCormick categories.
  • Develop and coordinate all Sales and Customer initiatives related to new product introductions and in-store programs
  • Attend customer meetings with sales team to present customized customer programs as needed
  • Act as the “voice of sales” through monthly IBP forecasting processes, providing Sales/Customer context that are impacting monthly Sales forecasts

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree is required with an emphasis on Business, Marketing or Finance is preferred
  • Minimum 7-10 years of branded CPG industry experience in Sales (Account Management), Category or Customer Insights
  • Strong cross functional experience and expertise including marketing/strategy, consumer/shopper insights, trade fundamentals, sales drivers and category management.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of trade spend drivers and measurements
  • Must have experience analyzing POS data, specifically Nielsen
  • Be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with cross functional partners (Sales, Marketing, Category Management, Finance, McCormick North American partners)
  • Ability to translate numbers into strong customer stories and relevant insights
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $112,030-$162,030Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
