DATA PRODUCT MANAGER – FINANCE

About the Role

The Finance Data Product Manager is accountable for the definition, prioritization, championing, and, most importantly, delivery of trusted, high-value Finance data products that enable strategic financial decision-making, performance transparency, and operational excellence across McCormick.

This role operates at the intersection of Finance, Data & Analytics, and Technology — working in close partnership with Transformation & Technology (including Data & Analytics, Data Governance, Information Security, and Technology teams) and GBS (including Automation and Data Science & Engineering teams). The Finance Data Product Manager connects people, platforms, and processes to establish a trusted, intelligent, and connected Finance data foundation that supports financial planning and analysis, controllership, commercial finance, supply chain finance, treasury, compliance, and enterprise performance management.

This position requires strong business acumen in core Finance processes (including record-to-report, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and financial planning), data fluency, product management discipline, and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders in a global environment. The Finance Data Product Manager plays a critical role in advancing a data-driven Finance function, strengthening data integrity and governance, and enabling timely, accurate, and insight-driven financial decisions that drive profitable growth and enterprise value creation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the strategy and roadmap for Finance data products aligned with Finance and enterprise data priorities.
  • Partner with FP&A, Controllership, Tax, Treasury, Commercial Finance, Internal Audit, and Finance Operations to prioritize initiatives based on financial impact, compliance requirements, risk mitigation, and analytics enablement.
  • Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of Finance data products using Agile methodologies.
  • Translate Finance requirements into clear, actionable user stories and manage the product backlog.
  • Partner with Data Engineering teams to deliver secure, high‑quality, auditable, and accessible Finance data products.
  • Ensure alignment with financial reporting standards (e.g., US GAAP/IFRS), SOX controls, regulatory requirements, and enterprise data governance policies.
  • Embed data quality, lineage, metadata, reconciliation, and control requirements across key Finance domains including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, cost accounting, revenue, and financial planning.
  • Monitor data quality, adoption, and business impact, driving continuous improvement in financial transparency and reporting efficiency.
  • Enable stakeholders to discover, understand, and responsibly use trusted Finance data as a single source of truth.
  • Quantify and communicate the measurable value delivered by Finance data products in partnership with the Finance Data Owner.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Analytics, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience in data product management, data strategy, or data governance within a complex or global organization.
  • Strong understanding of core Finance processes, including record‑to‑report, procure‑to‑pay, order‑to‑cash, financial planning, and performance management.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting standards, internal controls, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, governance, metadata management, and modern data product concepts.
  • Experience working in Agile, cross‑functional environments with Finance and Technology stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data solutions into financial and operational value.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills.
  • High data literacy, analytical thinking, and strong ownership mindset.
