POSITION OVERVIEW

 

This employee will act as a working Crew Leader, responsible for overseeing and leading daily operations and having the ability to perform Dry Blend and Pre-Weigh technician job duties as needed. In addition, the employee will be responsible for coaching, developing, and mentoring team members. The Crew Leader will ensure the overall performance of the Dry Blend and Pre-Weigh team to meet objectives for quality, safety, sanitation, GMPs, customer service, and process reliability and will be involved in leading High Performance.  The Crew Leader will participate in cross-functional problem-solving activities; update, create, and audit SOPs; and recommend/provide process improvement solutions. The Crew Leader must be flexible and attentive to detail to work in a fast-paced environment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Distributes daily workload to fulfill department goals and requirements
  • Responsible for coaching, developing, and mentoring team members to ensure individual and team success
  • Scheduling team vacations and arranging for workforce coverage
  • Daily communication with the Supervisor and other Crew Leaders
  • Ensuring product meets quality standards
  • Facilitates and leads continuous improvement initiatives
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, lead, and empower team members in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Investigate and communicate root cause analysis for failures, including recommendations and implementing solutions
  • Coordinate teamwork among team members
  • Leading meetings for production tracking, problem-solving, and team development     
  • Building team member commitment
  • Lead plant safety initiatives and ensure a safe work environment
  • Support and lead the growth of McCormick’s High-Performance Work System
  • Other duties as assigned

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Fork Truck Certification
  • Thorough understanding of SAP
  • Valid Driver’s license and transportation to travel between other McCormick facilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form
  • Ability to facilitate teamwork
  • Ability to effectively run meetings
  • Ability to work overtime/weekends as required
  • Ability to train others
  • PAPR/Respirator use may be required

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3 years of manufacturing experience
  • Prior leadership experience

Base Salary: $23.97-$35.95

 

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Dividend Program.
