This role is accountable for the architectural integrity, technical standards, and operational resilience of data protection and storage services across on‑premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. The position should have hands-on experience but will be responsible for providing expert technical guidance to the delivery teams, design authority, and quality oversight to ensure services are delivered in line with enterprise requirements and best practices.

As the technical subject matter expert (SME), the Manager - Storage, Backup & Recovery defines and validates architecture patterns, backup and replication strategies, recovery models, and platform standards aligned to enterprise architecture, cybersecurity policies, and recovery objectives (RTO/RPO). The role translates business continuity and product requirements into clear technical guardrails and reference designs, ensuring that operational teams and providers execute within approved frameworks. Acting as the highest point of technical escalation, the Senior Technology Engineer provides advisory leadership for projects, complex issues and changes, and problem management activities to protect service stability and data integrity.

The role works in close partnership with the McCormick Service Lead, providing technical counsel and structured oversight to support effective management of the storage, data protection domain and DR. This includes reviewing technical roadmaps, validating solution designs, advising on risk and capacity planning, and ensuring alignment between operational execution and strategic direction. The Senior Technology Engineer strengthens decision‑making by bringing deep technical insight while enabling the Service Lead to maintain end‑to‑end accountability for service performance.

Additionally, the Senior Technology Engineer provides technical oversight of Managed Service Providers (MSPs), ensuring third‑party delivery aligns with defined architectural standards, service level commitments, and quality expectations. Through governance participation, design reviews, and performance validation, the role ensures that execution quality meets enterprise standards without directly performing configuration activities. By driving standardization, continuous improvement, and audit readiness, the Senior Technology Engineer enhances enterprise resilience and ensures storage and data protection services remain secure, scalable, and business‑aligned

By leveraging performance metrics, capacity planning insights, and risk assessments, the Product Manager continuously evaluates service effectiveness and drives enhancements in automation, reliability, and recoverability. The role ensures that disaster recovery strategies are tested, validated, and business‑aligned, embedding a culture of preparedness and continuous improvement. Through disciplined roadmap execution and stakeholder engagement, the Product Manager enables resilient digital operations that support enterprise growth, operational stability, and long‑term sustainability.
