We are looking to hire an Solution Architect (Sales) immediately in a Hybrid (50/50) capacity at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

The Salesforce Solution Architect will be responsible for the technology strategy and governance of all Salesforce orgs and integrations at McCormick.  In this role, you will be responsible for the vision and priorities of system improvements for Salesforce as well as the plan to extend the solution out into other regions/markets. You will closely collaborate with key partners across all levels of the McCormick Organization in the planning, implementation, deployment of Salesforce changes, standards and governance.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Monitors the system health and provides proactive recommendations and resolutions to the IT Sales Enablement Product Owner.
  • Proactively analyzes and provides recommendations for feature capabilities, provides guidance and recommended adherence to Salesforce roadmaps, technical debt remediations and new functionality to add business value. Includes: org performance, governor limits, data skew, etc
  • Reviews and evaluates new all Salesforce 3x yearly releases to determine which are best suited for implementation in the org. Aligns with the IT Sales Enablement Product Owner for the timing and extension of platform capabilities and schedules with the business requirements and strategy roadmap vision.
  • Engages with the IT Sales Enablement Product Owner and business areas to gather requirements for system enhancements and feature requests; evaluates and prioritizes those enhancements/requests for implementation.
  • Provides expertise and oversight on Salesforce’s roadmap capabilities (including experience with the App Exchange), release management and the ability to translate and implement that into an established platform.
  • Provides technical expertise and guidance on platform feature capabilities and trade-offs/limitations for solutions leveraging Code vs. Configuration, as well as providing the effort to maintain each solution long-term (resource cost, technical debt, etc)
  • Establishes and maintains McCormick’s Salesforce Strategy, Governance processes, and Design standards across Security, UI, Process Automation, Object Classification, Pace Layering to ensure compliance/auditing standards are met and solutions are consistent regardless of teams delivering (i.e. naming conventions, best practices, frameworks, documentation, etc.)
  • Oversees the technical scrum and service line teams (in-house and vendors) to ensure solution quality meets the requirements and aligns to long-term McCormick Salesforce strategy and design standards 
  • Follows and implements Salesforce best practices (sandbox management, implementation, data governance, etc.) 
  • Monitors and works to improve data integrity; pulls reports and conducts audits including duplicate record management, field history changes, error reports etc.  Documents processes, including error reports and changes to field history tables. 
  • Documents and maintains technical architecture and system changes
  • Creates new reporting capabilities and responds to ad-hoc reporting requests; analyze requests and develop reports and dashboards
  • Works with the IT Sales Enablement Product Owner to communicate system updates and enhancements to users.
  • Assess the impact of new requirements on Salesforce and other integrated systems
  • Provide guidance and work with the applicable teams for Salesforce integrations.  Includes experience with the Salesforce AppExchange and related CRM products like Hubspot, Conga, Zoominfo, Pardot, Zencraft, FieldTrip, SAP, Scribe, Microsoft AX, PowerBI, Microsoft O365
  • Other duties, as assigned.

 

 

Required Skills:

 

  • Minimum of 5-8 years Salesforce experience, as Admin, Dev, Architect or combination of any
  • Understanding of APEX triggers, Lighting Web Components, Visualforce pages, custom objects
  • Ability to manage multiple Salesforce orgs with varying business processes
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to import/export data using DataLoader or equivalent 3rd party tools
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, and handle and prioritize simultaneous requests
  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to critically evaluate and prioritize information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts 
  • Experience in agile / agile scrum methodology and with agile delivery tools such as Azure DevOps is required. 
  • Experience working in matrix-based Product Line teams, including internal resources and contractors, is required.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Salesforce Architect Domain certifications (Application Architect, System Architect, Certified Technical Architect)
  • Bachelor's degree is required in Computer Science or related field.

Base Salary: $87,910-$153,870 


Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
